Gaijinja

American-born, J-rock/punk artist Gaijinja delivers high-energy performances shaped by a lifelong passion for punk. Now based on the island of Kyushu in Japan, his name nods to the Japanese word gaijin, meaning “foreigner” or “outsider”, capturing the cross-cultural identity at the core of his music. His musical journey began after seeing Goldfinger live at The Phoenix Theater - already a fan of their song “Superman” from Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, the experience sparked his drive to create music with the same force and intensity.
His core influences include Punk in Drublic by NOFX, Operation Ivy’s self-titled album, and OK Computer by Radiohead - records he connected with early through radio discoveries and the LimeWire era.
Now performing across Japan, he channels these roots into a dynamic blend of American punk energy and modern J-rock, driven by enthusiasm and the love of music.
